On the so-called Reformation of the Church in the 16th century

On the so-called Reformation of the Church

This was perhaps the hinge point of history for humanity in the West. It would come to a low peak of Christian spiritual understanding after leaving the Roman Catholic Church and then begin its descent in to moral degradation with the advent of the Enlightenment only in the very next century which failed to bring a peaceful satisfaction to humanity and led to Materialism and Communism and finally atheism. Now here we are and the West and the Western Hemisphere are sliding down a cliff of moral depravity with the acceptance of homosexuality being forced upon us, divorces rampant, movies and music praising and promoting hatred, violence, drugs, etc. I think the reason why Europe declined so horrendously after the Reformation was because the leaders of that movement (which movement I would rather entitle “the Revolution,” no real reforming really being realized then) gave people a license to sin rather than reprove them for it. Sin was now legal and understood to be normal as we are supposedly, after our personal reformation through faith in Christ, still unreformed sinners! It’s no wonder the humanists of the Enlightenment sought for something better than Christianity so soon after the so-called Reformation!

The truth is Christ saves from sin and if people are taught this, they can truly experience reform and be satisfied with the transformation of their heart that Christ works through His blood.
